Kona

It has been 9 days since I got kona, here are some pictures of him!

He has gained 4 pounds as of Sunday and his bones don't show as much visually. You can still feel most of his bones, but much much less than before. He is much happier now and is starting to play around like a puppy. He has really been enjoying the snow that we got yesterday and whenever I let him out to use the bathroom, he likes to hang out out there for a while.

My brother flew out of the Bellingham Airport on Saturday morning, Here are a few pictures of my family.

This is my dad holding Esther, isn't she just sooo cute?

We went bowling on Friday afternoon, this picture from left to right is Jason, Dad and Jeremy (Jeremy is my oldest brother and Jason is the next)

Sunday

This Sunday I was able to wear the dress that I bought in China Town in San Francisco! The slits on the sides go almost all the way to my hip so I was wearing a pair of black slacks under it. In this picture, I am holding Esther (my sister) who is wearing an outfit that mom bought for me when I was a baby! She wanted a picture because of the outfit.

On Saturday night, I got a call from a lady that had bought a puppy from me last July, at the time, the puppy was almost 6 months old and perfectly healthy. She was calling because she had finally made the decision that the puppy, Kona, was not receiving the care and attention that he should (she is working 3 jobs and going to school) so she was going to have to either find a new home for him or maybe have me take him back (she didn't say that outright, but she was hoping that I would understand). Since she bought him, he had gotten skinnier and skinnier and myself as well as one of her friends have been pretty worried about him. So, I got him back on Sunday afternoon. Here are some pictures of him:As you can see, he is literally skin and bones, he has no fat at all. I have a friend who breeds dogs and I talked to her, she said that he might have digestion problems but after watching him for a while (he was really really hungry, but happy, obedient, acted healthy and loves animals and people) I think that he was just not being fed nearly enough, she was a first time owner and I think that she was following the dog food bag's instructions very literally which for my dogs is only half of what they need. I am going to hopefully bring him back to health then find him a new home. He is a very sweet dog and whenever I walk by where he is tied up (at the bottom of the staircase) he will come out and want to greet me. I introduced him to my other dogs a little bit and he was very submissive, which is a good thing when around my dogs, and just wanted to meet them. He is very good about hanging around when I let him off of the leash outside and so far knows sit, go potty, go lay down as far as I can tell. For those of you who remember him, when I sold him, his name was Crush. He is now 1 year old.

I'm Back!

I got back at midnight on Sunday night, I had a lot of fun while I was there. On Thursday, my aunt took me to China town (I bought a Chinese shirt, dress and a fan there) then we took the trolley to the water front where I saw a lot of seals (it was pretty funny, there were a bunch that were fighting like dogs) and ate lunch. On Friday we played two games of putt putt golf (the first one my aunt won by 25 points and the second one she won by 15!) then we went and watched "Slumdog Millionaire" in a nearby theater. On Saturday we went to an amusement park on the beach where I got to have my first and second ride on a real roller coaster! We also played another game of putt putt golf, this one was more fun though because it was a little more like mini golf (and I tied with her on points). I will post some pictures as soon as I get them, we took pictures on her camera and I have to get them from her. We left for home at about 8:30 Sunday morning and drove until we got home with only breaks for meals and one break at a Wal-mart, I only ended up driving for about four of those hours though.

My Room

I have been sharing a room with three of my younger sisters for a year now (I had had my own room for a long time before that) and I am getting tired of my second littlest sister crying, night lights, sleep talking etc. so I decided to move up to the attic! My brother occupies the North side of the attic so I am going to have my own little room in the South side. Right now I am using three sheets stapled to the walls for a fourth wall and I have only gotten my bed in there so far but I will take pictures and put them up once I get all of the way moved in.

On Saturday my dad took me shopping and we bought a hope chest! I will put up pictures of it when I do my room pictures, it is made of recycled wood. All of the wood on it came from barns and things like that (there are little nail holes all over it) and it kind of looks like a chest for burying treasure in except that it doesn't have a lock or side handles.

I can't wait for you to see the pictures!

Rrrrrrrr!

Do you have anything that keeps happening to you that just really really frustrates you? I do, it is when my dog, Rhianna, gets loose and runs as hard and fast as she can down the road, taking the other dogs with her! No one can keep up with her and she knows that if my hands are full, I won't be able to catch her! When I put the dogs in their kennels for the night I usually have them run off of the leash straight from the pen on the drain field into the garage and into their kennels but Rhianna and occasionally Sebastian get the idea that they want an evening run. They look like little streaks of black when they run like that.

When Rhianna was little we didn't have a pen for our dogs and they were allowed to roam free in the house and outside so she hates being penned up all of the time (their pen is approx. 20x25 ft) so at almost every chance she gets, she runs off. When Sebastian runs off he stays in the yard but Rhianna has to run down the driveway and down the road. She is also the leader most of the time and if she starts running, the other dogs follow.

Sorry for venting on you readers, but I am just really frustrated with her doing that and making me have to use the leashes all of the time!

Starting out

For my friends who may be reading this, I have to warn you. I may not blog very often, my life can get really busy really fast. I haven't ever really thought about doing a blog, and I don't know if there is really anything that would be exciting to write about but I thought that I would give it a try.

I thought that I would start out with a little information about me. As you can tell by my blog address, I am the third of eleven children. I am the oldest daughter with 6 brothers and 4 sisters. I love animals especially horses, I own 3 purebred AKC Miniature Schnauzers and three cats. My family has three more cats, and in the past we have owned many different animals ranging from chinchillas to sheep. This past summer in July, I spent ten days in Germany on a short term missions trip. While there we placed tracts in mailboxes and also got to see a little bit of Germany.

As my first exciting thing to post about, I am going to tell you what I am doing next week! My oldest brother is in the Marines and is currently stationed in 29 Palms California. He is going to come home for two weeks, then will be going to Iraq for 7 months. On Wednesday February 18th, I am going to fly out to San Francisco, stay there with my aunt until Saturday or Sunday then he and I are going to drive his Camaro all the way home! I am getting really excited and can wait to go. The really cool part is it only costs $60.00 for the flight!

Well, let me know what you think about my post and please give me suggestions as to what I could write about!
